I know many of you can still bathe in snow, but here the first signs of spring are starting to show. The sun is shining more often, the temperatures don't go under 0 during the day and, most important, green buts and the first flowers of spring are breaking earth and bark. These couple of weeks, when winter is still trying to cling on but spring is undermining it in more and more ways, is always glorious.

It seems to me that the length of seasons is just right; just long enough for me to be incredibly grateful that the next one is coming, but never long enough to get so throughly sick of them that I will not be looking forward to them next year.

This. I really don't like winter, but spring wouldn't be the same without it.

I have seen snowdrops blooming here, and the tips of the daffodils and things are stating to show.

They've been up for the last week or so, here. It's lovely... Spring always makes me so, so happy. I love seeing things grow and bloom and in a month or so, there will be flowers and colours and life everywhere. Also, the sun is wonderful and finally gaining some warmth.

For me, all seasons have their charms. Summer is the one I enjoy the least because I'm no good with the oppressive heat it brings. Gives me head aches and just generally makes me miserable. But, it brings vacation and festivals and such so I suppose it has its charms also.

I really don't mind winter at all either...But right now I'm done with the cold and thick sweaters and coats and most importantly, the lack of sun.

You are about two weeks or so ahead of us. We only got to above freezing this past week. Almost time to open up those windows for Spring cleaning...

Hmmm I think that works. Although I live near the sea so basically we don't have as much snow and ice and freezing cold as you probably do anyway.

Also, the Netherlands might be at about the same hight as New York, but because of the Mexican gulf stream we never get as cold as we should.
