iRandom Note: Happy almost christmas everyone!
Ok, so I know I've talked about balfolk a lot. It's something I really and honestly love. It's fun, dancing makes me incredibly happy, the people are awesome, the atmosphere is so nice, there is no competition and it lacks any sort of responsibilities. In other words, it's all I'd wish for in a pasttime or sport. I hate the competition that comes with most sports, the drive to be 'better' and the fact that you're forced to train because that's what's expected of you. Balfolk lacks all that. Noone cares how good you are. Noone cares if you don't know a dance. Everyone is open to learning new dances and teaching others dances in return. It's about having a good time, having fun and doing something together that everyone there loves. And do I ever love dancing.
h_johanna once noted that on pictures of me dancing, I always look so incredibly happy. And I am.
In a little more than a month, there will be a whole weekend of balfolk. Three days of dancing, dancing and more dancing. There's going to be workshops and classes and lessons and a lot of fun and good times. (My feet are going to hurt SO bad after but... Oh man, will it ever be worth it <3). I've been squeeing over it ever since I first found out about it a little more than a week ago. A bunch of my friends is coming too and I'm sure it'll be wonderful.
