rANDOM nOTE: i FELT LIKE HITTING CAPS (THOUGH REALLY, THAT HAPPENED QUITE BY ACCIDENT, BUT IT LOOKED FUNNY ANYWAY ^__^)

Aaaanyway... I finished Diana Wynne Jones' 'Howl's Moving Castle' today. I'm completely in love with the book... I can see why [livejournal.com profile] h_johanna  would read it over and over and over and over, and keep laughing every time. It's one of those books. One of those books that stand right up there with Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's 'Good Omens' and the first parts of Joanne Rowling's 'Harry Potter and Eoin Colfer's 'Arthemis Fowl' and that you want to read over and over and over and keep on discovering because really? It's just that delightful.

I borrowed h_johanna's copy and she'll want it back at the 10th (well actually, her sister'll want it back because she was the one who was reading it when I got my hands on it and was swapped up) so I couldn't resist and ordered a copy of my own online.

Of course this meant that I didn't get even half done of what I'd wanted to get done for my paper, but I did get something done and that's wonderful because at least it's a start and I've been dreading the start for some time now.

In other news, if everything goes right we'll be able to pull on our iceskates tomorrow morning and actually skate on the waterways, which is absolutely wonderful as I love iceskating and I haven't done it on natural ice for years (I learned on natural ice when I was two, and have skated lots and lots on both natural and superficial ice (we had an iceskating ring about 10 minutes of our house where I used to live, and it was a lot cheeper than, for instance, the swimmingpool) but the last ten years, the number of years we've had natural ice has been declining and I don't think I've skated on natural ice for years now.

In other news again, the adaptor of my laptop broke, which means I am at my mothers pc right now, which is seriously annoying for a lot of reasons. My sister's boyfriend (Dennis, who is a friend of mine, too) promised to find me websited where they sell cheap but good laptop adaptors but I haven't seen any so far.

Last but not least, I went through five and a half years worth of pictures, both analogue and digital ones, on friday, which was both fun and tiring. Now, I've send over 1100 digital pics out to be printed (and payed a fortune but hey, I guess it'd be worth it) and will go out to buy two or three new photobooks to put them all in. Now to find the time and courage to actually face those quantities of pictures...
I did find a picture of me and my first boyfriend. We looked terribly young and terribly cute and I had a great laugh about it.

All in all, all I can do is stand back and be amused at life and the things that happen and don't happen. It really is amusing when you look at it right, you know?

Oh, I remember Howl's Moving Castle... I think there was a sequel, 'Castle in the Sky' (or was it Air... something to do with a flying castle x'D)

I really liked that book. 8D I also liked Artemis Fowl, but I confess I haven't read many Terry Pratchett books yet.

Hmmm I ordered that online at it should be here somewhere next week... I'm already looking forward to it! :D

Hmmm Arthemis Fowl is absolutely lovely. I can't wait until the last book is translated. I've read all the books in Dutch so far, so I guess I should keep reading them that way...

Terry Pratchett... Now there's a book that's fun and cool and of which the Howls moving castle humour reminded me in places. Though I must say, I think Howls moving castle is of a slightly higher level.

If I were to advice you a good book, go read Good Omens, it's wonderful.

:D Happy reading!

Oh I loved Artemis Fowl... I read the last book in English x'D I remember I saw it and was like "HOLY -- THERE'S ANOTHER ONE?!" and all my friends were nodding like I was an idiot or something x'D Then I borrowed it from my friend at the end of school, and finished it later on in the evening x'D

My school library has a shelf of his books because the previous co-chair of our book club loooooooved his books.

I'll keep that in mind. :D
