Random Note: I should post more often

Ok, so... Yeah, I decided to do the happy-meme after all. I was resisting but... Well... Everyone was doing it! OMG the pressuuuure! ;_; (lol)
Anyway, I don't know how I'm going to hold up but... Yeah.

Here we go.

Rules:
1. Post about something that made you happy today even if it's just a small thing.
2. Do this everyday for 8 days without fail.

Day 1

I went to the midwinter fair today. It's one of my fantasy fairs again. I love those things! This one had a rather unique flavour to it due to it being... Well, middle of the winter rather than summer or outside. It was held in the Archeon, which is an open air museum for history. In other words, a perfect setting.

Today had a bit of everything I love to do on these fairs. I saw lots and lots of people I vaguely know, some very good friends and a lot of people that hang somewhere in between, and met some great new people as well. It's wonderful how easy it is to meet/talk/have fun with people you hardly know at all on these things. I didn't have one particular person to go with on this fair, since

[livejournal.com profile] h_johanna  (my usual partner in crime on these things) had midterms to study for (poor thing) and had to miss it this time around. Despite that, I was always around people I (kind of) knew and liked. I guess I'm starting to be part of the group that frequents these things. Going to a lot of folkbals helps too!

I danced a bit, which was a lot of fun. I love dancing, especially folkdancing. I'm finally getting a hang of the waltz, which is awesome and makes me pretty proud, to be honest. Had a lot of problems getting in on that one. Now to learn the variations... I also notice I love to teach other people the dances. That's the wonderful thing about balfolk; it doesn't matter if you can or can't do a dance; if you can't, there's always someone around who can and is willing to teach you. Once you know the dance, you teach it to someone else in turn and the circle is round.

I also saw a lot of stalls.  During castlefest last summer and the one before that, I hung out at this one stall a lot; it's rather cool to see to be honest. The stalls on these events are often a sea of brown and black; traditional and gothic... Except for this one, which is white, pink and light purple ;) The owners of the stall are wonderful people and I talked to them a lot during castlefest. They were around for this fair too and obviously I stopped by to talk. They invited me to come and help in the stall during castlefest next year! I'm incredibly honored and so excited about that! ^___^

Also baught a top-hat, which I'll be dressing up during christmas break, I think. Pictures of that should be forthcoming.

Last but not least, when I woke up this morning my hair was almost as good as it was yesterday. I had my hair done and a hairsalon at the fair, where they would put fantasy-like hairdo's in your hair for a very low fee. I absolutely loved how they did my hair than, so that made me really happy. Pictures can be found here ---> http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v626/Ginnyvosje/?action=view&current=HPIM3803.jpg <--- I was very tired when I took these, so don't mind that.

Also, I am probably going to this weekend-long balfolk thing... A whole weekend of dancing, having fun, dancing more, being around awesome people, learning interesting new dances and variations on dances, having a good time, dancing some more and being absolutely DEAD when I get home. It's in the beginning of February and I'm already looking forward to it! :D

And... I think I've finally ran out of things to tell, but I doubt that was all the fun things and doubt even more than I was able to convey just how much fun and how wonderful it was.

Music:: Dromadaire - Chapelloise
