Random Note: All I've done for two days is constructing stuff. Now I'm done and tired.

So... I don't quite remember if I rambled about it on here, but I've had a bed in pieces (Ikea stuff, for all my fellow Europeans. Do the US or Canada or wherever have that? Basically you buy big packages and you have to construct your furniture on your own) in the attic for a while now. At first I wanted to wait with setting it up until I'll have a place of my own, but that doesn't seem to be happening any time soon and my patience has ran out.
Also, my desk decided to break down under me (with my laptop on it, no less. Thankfully my baby is unharmed) so I also had to buy a new desk (more ikea, so I had to construct that on my own too). Anyway, I baught the desk I'd been eying for a good while now and I'm SO happy I did.

I basically spend the last two days constructing first my new desk and than my new bed, practically all on my own, and they're DONE! I have a headache, am nausious, feel like I've done hard labour for a week instead of two days and am way tired, but oh god, they're DONE!

For comparison, this is what my room used to look like. The second closet isn't as new (few months old) and the angel sanctuary banner came at around the same time.

Im planning on hanging the AS banner a bit more to the side of my bed and to buy a really big van and hang it above my desk. There will also be a cloth over the little table that now houses my sterio, as soon as I find a suitable one. Otherwise, I'm very content. Also, check out the amount of books I gathered since the last pictures were taken. When I came to live here five years ago, my books made up about half the plank above my bed and nothing more.

This is my bed. It can actually come out as very bulky when you don't put it in the right place (my sister has the same one and the way she'd put it at first it really brought that out. This way it's awesome though! Like a little hole for me to crawl into and sleep. Also love the butterfly blanket and pillow <3 Yay! Butterflies.
You can't see it in the picture, but there are three drawers under the bed. One holds extra blankets and pillows, one holds my shoes (which used to be under my sink. NOT the right place for shoes) and one holds my bags. I have a sewing bag, a sports bag, a laptop bag, and since I didn't have a place to put them, they'd just randomly stand in my room and make the place look a mess. Now they have a place of their own!
The best thing about this bed though?  You simply pull out the front part (it has weels even though you don't see it) put on an extra matrass, and voila, double bed! :D

Aaaand my new desk! My bed is just to the left btw.
Note the lamp before anything else; isn't it absolutely beautiful?
I love how it fits really well with my new bed. When I had it up yesterday but didn't have my new bed yet, it just kind of stood out and looked huge, but now it just looks proportionate and really pretty and biiig (it's about 25 to 30 cm bigger than my old one and I LOVE the extra space. Also... Two closets are WONDEFUL. Think of all the space I have extra now! Best though;

The DRAWER. It's a place where I can throw all this stuff that you really want to have close at hand but that'll just be distracting and look like clutter when you put them on your desk <3

Last; the window side. Like I said, the little table (which used to be my nightstand) needs a table cloth. Something white that has either ribbons or lace or both at the bottom, I'd say. Oh, and the big white thing right of it will go.

The remaining wall didn't change, that's still the closets like in the first pictures.

Well...? What do you guys think?

I found the lantern in this toko in Amsterdam and was instantly in love. It was only three euro's too! (Some time later I saw the same lantern in this other store for seven... Imagine my glee :P)
Heh ikea is my favorite furniture store, I'd say.

It looks really nice! Most of my room is Ikea too. One of my favorite stores ever.

...I'd really highly recommend moving your bonsai tree to a window, though. Lightbulbs don't produce the right kind of light to keep them healthy. It might not actually die where you're keeping it (it looks like a Chinese elm, which are pretty sturdy) but it's going to be extremely stressed.

Yeah I know, but the thing is; my heater is under my window, and everyone kept saying to get it away from there because it's not good to have it by your heater, so I put it there until summer comes around... I don't know which is worse, really.

Hmm, that is a problem....

Depending on just how how hot the heater gets, it might not be too bad if you kept a tray of water under the pot so that it doesn't dry out too bad...

....although what would probably be better is to leave it where it is and maybe get a special growing light for it.

You probably did choose the better option though, given the case.

Heh in a month or two I won't be needing my heater anymore and than I will put it back in my window, even in front of the opening one so that it gets fresh air as well. In the mean while it'll have to cope. The closet is right opposite the window though, so although it might not get direct sunlight, it does get a lot of natural light.

Your room is awesome! It's cheerful and friendly, just like you.

Heee thank you! :D It definitely does take some getting used to, I'll tell you that! It's very white and not as cosy as how it used to be. Also, the bed is less broad. In exchange it looks like I have a lot more space though, so I guess it's all good.

I think...your room is so much neater and well-organized than mine! *is jealous*

Nevertheless - congratulations on your self-assembled furniture. Very nice.

*giggles* say that to my mom! Besides, you have to keep in mind that I just refurnished it so everything is still squeeky clean and neat. Just wait till I've lived in it for a week or so and than ask again! ;)

Oh yes, we definitely have IKEA here in the states. There's a big IKEA store about an hour from me. I need to go there some time.

Ikea is awesome. I love just walking around there and making up how I'd want my house to look. I think I only have ikea furniture, nothing else. Actually, most of our house is made up of ikea!

Hey gal, you are so neeaaat!! Love your clutter-free desk. I wish my room was like yours, but I'm quite a packrat at heart. Just a suggestion for curtains - if you have double rods, you can hang an extra thin gauzy white layer (with design e.g. mine has faint stripes) in front to add extra dimension.

whahaha just tell my mom that. She thinks I'm a total slob (I'm not really, she's a neat freak. I'm not extremely neat either though). But since I'm a bit of an ADHDer (heavy emphasis on the attention front) it's important for me to have a clutter-free desk, at least, so I can focus on what I´m doing.

That's a good idea actually! I don't jave double rods, sadly, but I should be able to do something about it anyway. I want to buy myself new curtains sometime soon and they have to be dark because I don't sleep very well in rooms that are too light, but dark curtains don't fit well with my room. If I work with white gauze/lace on it, it might actually turn out looking very awesome! Thank you so much! :D

I have a big thing for butterflies, so I love them toooo! :D So very much! The underside of the blanket has more small ones so if I get tired of this, I can just use that :D

^___^ It's pretty cool. Like I said, both pieces of furniture came out extremely bulky looking on their own, but when combined they look great! :D

And I dunno? I never do anything with butterflies. Hate the things.
