Scary that the 15% do not realize the extremely close parallels to the Nazi party. Still, in all, most of your countrymen ARE sane. Just as you would never judge an entire ethic or religious group by the actions of a few zealots, most people will not judge you by the votes of a few of your countrymen.

There's a saying - not sure if it has crossed the pond - The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Those that speak the loudest get the attention.

In your case 85% off all Dutch aren't listening to the noise.

You may be scared but those who should be terrified are those of Middle Eastern decent - or anyone who could be mistaken for Middle Eastern. After 911, it was a dangerous time to be of Middle Eastern decent in the US. Fear is a powerful motivator. Keep your chin up. Radicals usually stir things up for awhile and then fade away when they begin to bore everyone with their rhetoric.

That's what I'm scared for... It's not so much that I'm scared for myself, or that I'm scared something will happen to me personally.

I'm not happy with the way my country has chosen for many reasons. The way it looks now we might be getting a very right wing government that might have a few good ideas but all in all saves money on all the wrong things and invests in even wronger ones. Let's give money to the army and the banks, let's leave the richer population alone and let's take it away from education, the health system, nature... That's what the big winners advocate. I'm a left-wing voter and thinker, always have been. Apparently only a small part of my fellow voters are. This saddens me. Really, my icon says it all.

If a political leader, a minister or vice prime minister is sprouting that kind of bull crab, Muslims all over the word have every right to be furious... Even if only 15% of those who voted voted for him.

My mom's (joking) assessment this morning hit me in the gut; 'Shall we imigrate?' It was a joke and she wouldn't ever because she couldn't leave her parents and my fosterbrothers and really, this country in general, but... Neither of us want to be associated with the government as its shaping up to be.
